Danube Transnational Programme (DTP) 2014-2020 - current achievements and prospects

The 11th meeting of the Danube Transnational Programme Monitoring Committee for 2014-2020 was held this year in Chisinau from September 30th to October 1st. The event was organized by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Danube Transnational Programme for 2014-2020 with the support of the State Chancellery.

 

The meeting was opened by the Secretary General of the Government, Andrei Spinu, who welcomed the members of the Monitoring Committee and reiterated the Moldovan government's full support for the successful implementation of the programme.

 

The event was attended by representatives of 8 EU Member States participating in the Danube Transnational Programme for 2014-2020: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Germany (eligible regions - Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria), as well as 5 other non-EU countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina,  Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine (Odessa, Chernivtsi, Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions). The Republic of Moldova, together with Germany, co-chairs and organizes the event.

 

The meeting of the Monitoring Committee had an overall objective to present information on the current financial situation of the Programme. At the same time, the participants discussed the next stage of the 3rd  Call for proposals, the list of projects to be financed, as well as the prospects of the programme implementation untill 2023.

 

Also, during the same period, a training was held in Chisinau on the implementation of cross-border and transnational programmes in the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The purpose of the training was to inform the institutions involved in the implementation of the management and control system at the national level about the specific obligations in the context of the European regulation on the implementation of the DTP Programme.

 

The members of the working group, including representatives of the participating institutions, the State Chancellery, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and the National Anti-Corruption Centre, stressed the importance of cooperation between the institutions involved in the management and control system at the national level.

 

The Danube Transnational Programme for 2014-2020 provides funding for projects aimed at improving public policy and institutional cooperation.
