The building of the National Coordination Platform for technical assistance projects in the field of local public administration and decentralization was discussed today, 21 May 2019, in Chisinau, in a workshop organized by the State Chancellery, in collaboration with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
Deputy Secretary General of the Government, Adrian Ermurachi, said that this Platform aims to carry out activities for effective local development and promote closer cooperation between the Government, the local authorities and the external partners, but will also contribute to creating better living conditions for citizens.
During the meeting, there were discussed topics related to the revision of the mechanism for coordination of international technical assistance, the lessons learned from the experience of public authorities, as well as the working mechanisms of the future Platform. Special emphasis has also been put on the collaboration between the Government and the development partners, which will allow for the creation of more efficient instruments to support the efforts of local public authorities to better represent the interests of citizens, promote reforms and standards of good governance.
Also, the relevant experiences of the authorities of Armenia and Ukraine were presented in the development and development of similar platforms.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Center for Implementation of Reforms, the European Union Delegation in Chisinau, the Council of Europe, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the United Nations Development Program, the United States Agency for International Development, The International Cooperation Agency of Germany and the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova.
The workshop took place during the preparatory phase of the project "Involved Locals - Strong Local Authorities" implemented by the SKAT Company in partnership with the State Chancellery and financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
